The process
HOW A BUILD HAPPENS.
From first conversation to finished car. Every commission follows the same sequence — and every one is different.
The Conversation
It starts with an email or a call. No forms, no intake questionnaires. We talk about what you want the car to do, what you want it to look like, and whether this is the right build for you. Most commissions begin with someone who has been thinking about this for a long time. That conversation is usually short.
The Brief
If the conversation goes somewhere, we put together a build brief — platform, engine, body, livery, interior, timeline, budget. This is not a contract. It is a shared understanding of what we are building and why. We revise it until it is right.
Chassis Fabrication
Every chassis is built from scratch in our shop. Fully triangulated steel, designed for the specific engine and body of your car. This is the longest phase and the most important one. A chassis built right makes everything else easier. A chassis built wrong makes everything else impossible.
Drivetrain & Suspension
Engine, transmission, and differential are sourced, built, and installed. Suspension geometry is set for the weight and power of the finished car. Wilwood brakes front and rear. Everything is tested on the chassis before the body goes on.
Body & Paint
The body is fitted, modified as needed, and finished to the commission brief. Period competition livery, single color, or bespoke — the paint is part of the car's identity, not an afterthought. We work with painters who understand what these cars are supposed to look like.
Interior & Trim
Seats, harness, dash, and trim are specified and installed. The interior of a car like this should be purposeful — nothing unnecessary, nothing missing. Roll bar, fire suppression, and safety equipment are included as standard.
Shakedown & Delivery
Every car is driven before it is delivered. Not around the block — driven. We find the problems before you do. When the car leaves the shop, it is ready to be used. We deliver in person when possible, and we stay available after delivery.
Timeline
A NOTE ON TIMELINE
A complete build takes 12 to 24 months depending on complexity and current shop load. We do not rush. We do not take on more work than we can do well. If you are in a hurry, we are probably not the right shop.
