Created by filmmaker and author Bobby Spade.
Every place has a story it tells about itself. In California, that story is written in sun-faded paint, cracked concrete, and the kind of cars dreamed up by Californians, both native and adopted. people like Peter Brock, Carroll Shelby, and Bill Thomas who built small, defiant machines with big American hearts. We call them Vintage Supercars.
The Perfect Road is where those stories live. american V8s in small garages. Long, empty highways. places where things made by hand matter. We build, we maintain, we drive; not to escape our lives, but to look them in the eye. The car becomes the question, the road becomes the answer, and the work in between is where a man finds out who he is.
Here you’ll find the home of bobby spade. films, pages from The Perfect Road: Zen and the Art of Vintage Sports Cars, and a daily stream of automotive Zen. If you’ve ever felt that an old car on a two-lane at dusk understands you better than a room full of people, then you already know your way around this place.
